People are usually confused. What is actually the difference between cold email vs spam? Cold email is a targeted message to an individual or company. SPAM, on the other hand, is typically unwanted and unsolicited messages.

  • Who have more than 10 employees

  • Who use Hubspot
  • Who currently have job openings for marketing help
  • With the role of HR Manager
  • That has only been in this role for less than 1 year
Just to give you an idea. 😀

Intentional Contact

One key difference is that a cold email should be more targeted and have an explicit value proposition.

It’s easy to say that managers should enable their salespeople with quality emailing skills, but what can they do?

Marketing and customer success need to work together with salespeople. They can help them by giving prospects’ information, as well as client stories.

Your emails should show genuine interest in your prospects if they are intentional. If you’ve done the research, your email shouldn’t look like SPAM.

Use Messaging that’s Buyer-Centric

When communicating with buyers, make sure to use language that is specific and resonates.

Your content should be supported with information that is relevant to buyers.

Keep your language simple and straightforward. Don’t use a lot of tech jargon or office-speak.

Be human and concise. Your prospects will appreciate it.

Deliver Clear Value & Don’t Automate Everything

Emails need to be valuable, not just one-time offers.

It is important to try and do it in a way that your audience will find interesting.

You have to write the best email copy for your top prospects.

This means going beyond just a token of appreciation and engaging with prospects on channels that marketing cannot, such as the phone, Twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook.

Aim To Build Trust

Trust is the foundation of a good salesperson.

Sales reps often just focus on features and not benefits.

Instead, they should be understanding the buyerinfluencer’s pain points and how their business can help alleviate them.

Solution selling is a way to build confidence with people by being an unbiased, trustworthy advisor.

When you know the specific struggles of a business, it will make them trust your company more.

It’s important to do research and know what you are talking about when it comes to sales.

Give An Option to Opt Out

I get a lot of cold emails myself. Some sales reps are now including an opt-out link at the bottom.

Don’t want to hear from me again? Click here.

I think it’s important to at least reply when someone reaches out, even if you are not interested.

It’s discouraging to be ignored day after day.

You might be surprised by how many people are not interested in your offer, even if you go the extra mile to make them feel comfortable.

You’ll Always Be SPAM To Someone. Don’t Take It Too Personally.

It’s hard to get in touch with people who are already so busy, especially when they work at the executive level.

When someone tells you not to take it personally, they’re telling you that this is just a business decision and nothing personal.
